The Story of the Name

The name of our retreat was inspired from the famous old style ‘rickety rackety’ bridge just 2 minutes walk from our place. It was called ‘Yellow Bridge’ by the local people as the colour of its railing and steel supporter. However, in 12 December 2018 its name was changed to ‘Sudamala Bridge” Sudamala means ‘purifying water’ derived from ancient Sanskrit , as the local government rebuilt the bridge to be saver for the villagers to go through. This bridge plays an important role for six districts within Kerta Village as transportation mean to bring crops to the market, for children to go to school, people to go to work, etc.

For us , The Jembatan Retreat means more than that. We want our retreat as a place to connect people from different cultures, different traditions, different way of life. To enjoy the time with us either getting relaxation from our spa treatment, or doing meditation to achieve peace for your mind or  simply enjoying  a cup of coffee,  in the pure of nature that surrounds us. Attach yourselves with the serenity of our retreat and put all hectic matters away .

Cross ‘the bridge’…and be with us.
